Whales

The bump exposed!

Our close whale encounter

Jeff, baby, and I at El Arco

We got away one last time before the arrival of the baby and enjoyed a long weekend in Cabo away from all the snow! The timing was great, it's whale watching season in Cabo. Yes, although some might argue that I was the whale, we did get to see plenty of actual whales. The highlight was our whale watching/sunset cruise. We saw a whale the size of a bus jump completely out of the water about thirty feet from us. Jeff is incredibly proud of the picture he caught (see above).

You know you are pregnant when...

These are the things then never tell you in sex ed. If they did, maybe we wouldn't have so many pregnant teenagers...
1. Wearing pants that include a big elastic band that goes up over your stomach is not glamorous or cute in any way.
2. It is virtually impossible to bend over without moaning, groaning, or clutching your back.
3. Although yes, it is nice to be able to use your stomach as a cup holder, it also becomes a place where all kinds of crumbs collect.
4. You start to resemble a beached whale as you try and roll yourself out of bed or off the couch.
5. You just flat out start to look like a whale.
6. In a one hour trip to the gym, you make at least three trips to the little girls room to pee.

Now, I must admit, I have no room to complain. I think I have been relatively lucky and had it pretty easy when it comes to being pregnant. I only wonder what the next 12 weeks have in store for me...

My first splurge

Ok, I was really proud of myself there for a while. I had ignored the urge to start buying baby "stuff." That all ended last week as I walked by a cute little baby boutique store. By the way, if you happen to see one, just keep walking, I don't care how adorable the items in the window look! Once you are inside, it is a sea of overpriced, extremely adorable stuff! The store owner decided to go into her little speech about what they carried and pointed out some of the new items they had gotten in. Well, it took me about two seconds to decide that I HAD to have the little infant bathing suit she had held up. With complete disregard for the price I purchased it. Now, my little man is all set for the pool. And now, my obsession with online shopping for baby clothes has begun (don't tell Jeff, luckily I get home from work early enough to remove any packages that may be waiting for me on the porch).
